Like everything else the past two years, last year’s tax filing season was extraordinary. Millions of taxpayers found some welcome relief through stimulus payments and an extended filing and tax payment deadline. In probably as clear a sign as any that things may starting to get back to “normal,” the IRS has reinstated the historical mid-April filing deadline, which is Monday, April 18 for the 2021 tax year.

The IRS also instituted some tax changes that could impact your 2021 tax filing, specifically related to charitable contributions and child tax credit payments. Important Tax Documents and Reminders

Below are a few tax-related documents you may receive from Transocean for 2021:

• W-2 – If you have not yet received your all-important W-2, it’s available on Workday:
  - Click on the Pay worklet.
  - Select My Tax Documents.
• 1095C – Transocean sent the 1095C form (indicating an individual was covered under Transocean's health plans) to all employees. It’s vital that you keep this 1095C document for your tax records. If you didn’t receive it, or have misplaced it, download a copy by logging into your account on YourTransoceanBenefits.com
• 1099-SA – If you participated in a Transocean HSA plan and used funds from your Health Savings Account in 2021, you will receive a 1099-SA from Fidelity.  You will need this to complete your taxes and report the distribution  to the IRS.  If you have not received your 1099-SA from Fidelity, it is available on NetBenefits.com:
  - Select Tax Information in the HSA Quick links section.
  - Click on View Your Tax Forms.

Finally, the grace period for filing claims for your Flexible Spending Account, or FSA, expenses incurred through December 31, 2021 is March 31, 2022.
