Charting a Path to Prevention: Centers of Excellence
Wellness
Managing a health condition and need extra help? United Healthcare (UHC) offers access to a variety of Centers of Excellence (COEs) to help you get special care for conditions like transplants, heart disease or bariatric care solutions.
There is a COE for each of these special conditions, and if you seek help from them you will receive:
- A thorough review of your case
- Education on treatment options
- Reduced healthcare costs
- High-quality care and treatment from some of the best doctors and facilities in the nation
- General support from clinicians
Transplant Resource Services
Your health plan offers Transplant Resource Services (TRS), which gives you access to the nation’s leading transplant programs through the Transplant Centers of Excellence (COE) network. This program ensures your transplant treatment is based on best practices and provided by health care professionals with extensive, specialized expertise.
Neonatal Resources Services
Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common type of birth defect. Each year, about 40,000 children in the U.S. are born with CHD. Your health plan offers Congenital Heart Disease Resource Services (CHDRS), at no additional cost to you. This gives you access to leading treatment providers through the CHD Centers of Excellence (COE) network. Receiving services through these providers means you get care based on best practices from professionals with extensive expertise in treating CHD.
Bariatric Resources Services
If you are ready to take a critical step toward achieving a healthy weight and lifestyle, Bariatric Resource Services (BRS) can help. BRS offers you the support, education, tools, resources and care from some of the top bariatric facilities and experts in the country to help make your weight loss journey successful.
Support Programs
In addition to COE services, you also have access to programs like the Cancer Support Program, which offers individualized coaching and education for both adult and pediatric patients diagnosed with cancer. The program focuses on supporting cancer patients who may be at high risk for complications and side effects associated with their cancer or treatment.
