If you are caring for a child, spouse or elderly parent, you know firsthand that being a caregiver can be a rewarding but difficult job, to say the least. The COVID-19 crisis, with its far-reaching impacts, has made family caregiving even more challenging. November is Family Caregiver Month and the perfect time to talk about the resources that Transocean provides to support our employees who are caring for loved ones.

During the pandemic, parents have not only been managing their jobs from home, but also taking care of their younger children, who are usually in day care. In many cases, they are also acting as teacher to their children who are home from school. Some are even taking in elderly parents to reduce their risk of contracting COVID-19 in their nursing care facility. The bottom line: We have all been taking care of our families full-time and without breaks, often while quarantined–forever changing our family relationships and the nature of caregiving.

All this caring for others without a break can take a toll, especially when you have very little time for self-care. Even the best caregiver needs support sometimes.   • Behavioral In-Person and Virtual Visits – This video-based technology platform offers you the option to have online sessions with network providers from the privacy of your home, office or other site, including sessions with licensed psychiatrists. Learn more.
  • Talkspace – Talkspace is a unique digital platform that offers an alternative to face-to-face therapy. You are able to interact with a network provider via text or audio/video messaging, or schedule a live session. There are over 5,000 licensed behavioral health clinicians in the Talkspace network.   • Sanvello App – An app that offers self-help support based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindful meditation, Sanvello provides activities designed to be effective in the moment, helping you manage stress, anxiety and depression. Learn more.
