Charting a Path to Prevention: Stress Awareness
Wellness
Stress is unfortunately a reality of our modern lives. From stress at work to anxiety over finances, relationships, and maybe even illness, we all have some pressures that weigh on us. With the isolation and uncertainty the pandemic has brought, many of us have experienced these first-hand over the past year.
April is Stress Awareness Month, designed to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for common types of stress. The good news? Once you’re aware of different forms of stress in your life, you can address them proactively and in positive ways—before they become “bad” stress. Left unchecked, high stress levels can lead to mental health issues, lack of sleep, difficulty concentrating, and even major health problems.
You don’t have to wait until stress becomes overwhelming to get support—and you’re not alone. Transocean offers several resources that can help, including the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) & Worklife Services benefit and the Sanvello self-help app.
24/7 EAP Support at Your Fingertips
Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Worklife Services program provides confidential, round-the-clock support and resources 365 days a year to you and your dependents—even if you are not enrolled in the UHC medical plan or your family members live away from home. There’s no cost for referrals or for seeing a provider in Optum’s network.
Having trouble identifying the source of your stress? The EAP can help, and it offers assistance for a wide range of concerns and issues, including:
• Depression and anxiety
• Substance abuse
• Relationship problems
• Workplace conflicts
• Living with chronic conditions
• Child and elder care

The app allows you to select from a number of different resources to identify, manage and track patterns of stress, including:
• Daily mood tracking to help you identify your moods and patterns and assess your progress.
• Coping tools you can use for specific situations that create stress for you (i.e., taking tests, public speaking and morning anxiety).
• Guided journeys and meditations that use different clinical techniques to help you feel more in control.
• Online peer communities where you can get support for a variety of issues anonymously.
Ready to get started?
It’s as simple as downloading the Sanvello app from the Google Play or App Store on your mobile device.
